Welcome to my page! I hope that you take a couple mintues to look around and read my reasons for particapating in the Avon 3-Day Walk. This is such an exciting event.

I have several reasons for doing this walk. As you well know, Breast cancer takes many mothers away from their children. Did you know that nearly 42,000 women and men will die of breast cancer in this year alone. This is unacceptable to me, and it scares me. Breast cancer has affected my family, I worry that one day it could be me, or God forbid one of my own daugthers. My hopes are that through the efforts of this walk, and the others planned around this country this year, researchers will be one step closer to finding a cure.

Another reason for me to do this walk is purely selfish. I want to prove to myself that I can do it. As you know I resently had Bariatric surgery (stomach stapling) to aid me in weight loss. Well as of this date, I have lost 55 pounds! I feel great, but still have a long way to go. A year ago I would never have been able to even consider doing something like this. Now, not only can I consider it, I will accomplish it! I'm training hard. I'm up to 6 miles a day, and have 3 more months to get up to the 20 mile a day goal. But I'm very determinded.
